Galatians 3:29… And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, heirs according to the promise.

Party!

12/05/08

Friday night we have two separate Christmas parties going on.  The men will be meeting at Lloyds on Highway 280 at 7:00 pm.  This is an annual gathering that is planned and presented by the Men’s Ministry.

Thanks Jim Daw, for all you do for this ministry.

Meanwhile at the church, also at 7:00 pm, the ladies will be getting together also.  They will probably party a little harder than the men.  My wife was up later than normal just getting ready to go.  Thank you Mary Lombard for all you do for the ladies.

One thing I do know; there will be food.  Hopefully all that attend will have a good time and may Jesus be lifted up through the fellowship.

Love you all

  1. Yes, we had lots of food at the Ladies’ Christmas Party. But that was not the focus last night. The fellowship was awesome.

Charlotte Ward read the Christmas Story for our devotion. She also shared how she loved the ladies at ACOG and how they accepted her family and made them feel at home after leaving her church of 40 years.

Jamie Fincher ministered to us in song, and Dee Mimbs led all the ladies in Joy to the World before dismissal.

We all shared gifts with each other as we always do, but the highlight of the night was when we presented a special gift to a special lady. Trichia Bradberry lives in a local nursing home. She attends our church fairly regular. She is always willing to help with the Ladies’ Ministries functions and fund raisers. This year she helped with the shoe boxes, and she raised more money during our pecan sales than the entire church combined (from the nursing home!). She was presented with a special “shoebox” which contained a new Bible to replace the one stolen from her. She was touched by the gester (we all cried). It made me proud that the ladies had reached out to her and shared the love of Jesus. It was an awesome night.

Merry Christmas to all of you.
    Connie

  2. Connie,

Thanks for the input and update.

I truly thank you for helping me to keep these sites alive with your thoughts. It is a real blessing to have you so focused on helping this be successful.

The men did what we do best. We ate.

    Thanks
