We have a number of contributors to the site here. All churches should be filled with many different ministries and we want to keep you informed about all that is going on.
We love you all

SONNY CABLE
I started serving Jesus Christ on Jan 19 2002 after being a slave to our enemy for the first 42 years of my life. I became a member of ACOG in May of that year and started teaching an adult Sunday school class in June 2003. A Wednesday night class was added the next year.
I am challenged by God to bring truth to those that I teach; even if it does not look like the traditional views we have held for so long. I am firmly committed to the Church of God and its doctrine, but often find that we might be a little off track in our service to the Kingdom.
I want to impact lives for that very Kingdom because I know that I impacted many for the enemies. I love Jesus and continually strive to love everyone the way He does. My job here is to try to keep things interesting enough for you to come back and check us out. I will do my best.

SHANNON MIMBS
Hey everyone!
I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ in the latter part of 98′. This journey with God has been (and is) nothing short of amazing. I love to study and teach the Scriptures, hang out with folks, advance the mission of God’s love to those around us and, basically, serve in whatever capacity God sees fit.
My wife, Dee, and I moved to Alabama a few years back in order for her to attend graduate school at UAB. This past year we came to Alabaster Church of God where we have met so many friends (now family) whom we labor beside in order to advance God’s Kingdom.
Currently, I serve in a teaching role in our student ministries (in the upstairs student sanctuary — da’ Atik). I will graduate from the Church of God Theological Seminary, December 2008 and hope to pursue further studies thereafter.
Peace.

DEBRA MIMBS
Hi. I’m Debra Mimbs and I co-teach the Girl’s Club (9-12 year old girls) on Wednesday nights with Jamie Fincher. We have a wonderful time together praying, playing games, and reading and discussing the word of God.
I have learned so much from the girls in my class. They are all so lively and passionate that it makes things interesting when we get to a topic that they really enjoy. We have discovered together that the good things in life are much more fun when shared and the bad things are not quite so bad when shared. We have learned that studying the word of God can be really fun.
I am so thankful that God has given me the opportunity to get to know these girls – they are truly beautiful.

LAURA SEALS
I was raised in a Freewill Baptist Church and remained there until I was 21. For the next few years I avoided Church and God. About 15 years ago my friend Tammy Cable saved my life and soul. She invited me to attend a ladies prayer group on Wednesday nights at Alabaster Church of God. I met and accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and I have not looked back.
I have been involved in many ministries through the years, but right now I know that I am where God has been leading me. I teach the College and Career class on Sunday Mornings and I am also leading the new Drama Team, with help from Jamie Fincher, for the students ranging in age from 9 to 16 years of age.
This is a new phase in my walk with God and I know that through this that I will grow and learn, not only from Him but the many students that I have the pleasure of working with.

BARBARA SNYDER
I started attending ACOG over six years ago and accepted the position as Children’s Pastor in June of 2006. My wonderful husband John and our two daughters Olivia and Victoria are tremendous blessings to me and they always support in the planning of and/or preparation for children’s events. We are truly blessed at ACOG to work with such a great group of kids. They are striving to fulfill our three step mission for children’s ministry: Know, Grow, & Go. We want our children to know God in His fullness, to grow in His Word, and to fulfill the Great Commission by going into the world and teaching the lost about God’s amazing love and forgiveness.
I am so blessed to serve in a church where all age groups believe in and support children’s ministry work. There are numerous parents, teachers, and volunteers who deserve credit for assisting with the planning and implementation of lessons, activities, and children’s programs at ACOG. However, one young woman must be mentioned by name – Brandy Tiller. Ms. Brandy is my right hand, my comrade, my partner in crime (so to speak)! Whether we have fifteen or forty, our goal is to minister to the children in a way that will foster a desire in them to learn more about our precious Lord and His plan for their lives.

CONNIE DAVIS
My name is Connie Davis. I came into the Kingdom in 1994 at the age of 43. I have been a Sunday School teacher for Upper Elementary class for the past 14 years. I also serve on the Ladies’ Ministries Board, assist with the A.M.E.N. Food Bank and prepare the church bulletin. I have a great burden for the lost, the homeless, the addicted and society’s outcasts. I love working for the Kingdom.
I retired in 2007 and spend my time with my grand angels, my children, my friends, and just enjoy living life to the fullest. I have no regrets…..I am blessed!
Blessings to all,
Connie
