Galatians 3:29… And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, heirs according to the promise.
Christmas County Spelling Bee
01/27/09
The children’s department of ACoG will be selling DVDs of the children’s musical performed in our sanctuary. If you know of anyone needing to purchase a copy of this please direct them to Barbara Snyder or Brandy Tiller. We have included all parts of the program including the call of salvation. We believe this could be another tool used to advance the Kingdom. This will help support the children’s ministry as all monies will go directly to the children’s department.
Thanks,
Children Dept. Staff

The Christmas Country Spelling Bee
12/23/08
The children in our church performed a Christmas play this past Sunday and they did a wonderful job. They had worked diligently for almost three months, practicing and working on getting it just right. And it was just right.
As the children’s Pastor, Barbara Snyder, said, it is something about the children that packs a house; as it should. We should all support our kids in all that they seek to do that will enrich their lives. And the gospel of Jesus Christ will decidedly do that.
I just want to report here that they did do an amazing job. From the smallest to the largest of them, they all seemed to be right on cue and if not, it was not noticeable from where I sat. The play had them spelling some of the many names for Jesus that are found in the Bible. Most of them got them right and I have a suspicion that even the ones who got them wrong, only did it to advance the script.
I was touched, moved and very proud of them. Keep up the good work.
I received notice this week from the Alabaster Beautification Board that our Children’s Department received a 3rd place prize in the recent Alabaster Christmas Parade. The prize was awarded in the category of “Best Use of Theme”. The letter was very complimentary of our entry and came with a $100.00 check for Children’s Ministry.
We are very proud of these young people and want to extend a special thank you to Ms. Laura, Ms. Carrie, and Mr. Patrick for pulling this effort together.
Merry Christmas!
Ms. Barbara
Choir Christmas Performance
12/17/08
This past Sunday (December 14, 2008), the choir held a portion of a musical during the Sunday morning service. Much thanks to all those who put time and effort into the program – the choir members, director, musicians, technicians, etc. It was so much fun to be involved with this with you all. And, tomorrow we will be having our Choir’s Christmas Party. I look forward to seeing you all, again.
Christmas is my most favorite time of the year. Probably because I get to see all of my family, who I miss so much during the year (and my mom’s cooking is the best). But, it just seems like there is something wonderful about Christmas that is not there during other seasons of the year. Maybe it’s the decorations, or the joy that shows on the faces of so many people, or the music . . . Anyway, that’s what I was reminded of while singing Sunday. I was reminded of all of the blessings God has given us. He gave us family and friends and this wonderful holiday and his precious son to save us.
City of Alabaster Christmas Parade
12/07/08
On Saturday Dec 6th The ATIK ministries Students and leaders and parents loaded up and participated in the Alabaster Christmas Parade. It was cold but we were excited about this because the new Drama team, Angels of Mercy, were going to perform for the first time today at the parade. We started out at the Pizza Hut and I think that we walked about 3 miles. We also had a truck with our little ones that were singing and throwing candy. During the trek to the judge’s platform we rotated from singing Christmas Carols and performing the Drama while we walked.
I am proud to say that our students represented the Alabaster Church of God wonderfully. As we approached the Judges I could tell that they were nervous but they did a great job, they received a standing ovation from the judging platform. I feel blessed to be a part of this ministry.
This could not have been done without Patrick and Carrie Sullivan, Jamie Fincher and of course Barbara Snyder.
Thank You
ACOG Youth
12/06/08
Wonder what’s going on in the youth and children’s department? Well . . . This is an exciting time of the year for us, as we are working on our Christmas play. We have been practicing every Wednesday evening (and will be practicing this Sunday night in lieu of The Attik). If you do not have a part in the Christmas play, please come anyway, as there will be a class held for you.
We will be performing the play on Sunday morning, December 21. Please come and see all of our youth and children perform – they have worked very hard. Today (Saturday, December 6) our kids actually performed their play during the Alabaster Christmas Parade. While it was a little cold, they had a wonderful time.
We are so thankful for all our kids and their enthusiasm. Thanks also to the parents who are always so willing to help with the kids.

ACOG Ladies Christmas Party Report
12/06/08
Yesterday evening, the ladies ministry had their Christmas party, and what a wonderful party is was! I am relatively new to ACOG, so this was my first Christmas Party with the ladies, and I was so impressed. Different ladies in the church decorated the tables, and they were beautiful. Nancy Massey decorated the Christmas tree (with some help from some ladies in the church). And the food – we could have fed twice the people we had, and we had around 40 ladies.
It was so much fun spending time with the ladies from the church. There was a devotion by Charlotte Ward and song by Jamie Fincher. We played the left/right game with presents, and we had a lot of fun.
Thank you to all those ladies who participated in and planned the Christmas Party. It was an overwhelming success!

Party!
12/05/08
Friday night we have two separate Christmas parties going on. The men will be meeting at Lloyds on Highway 280 at 7:00 pm. This is an annual gathering that is planned and presented by the Men’s Ministry.
Thanks Jim Daw, for all you do for this ministry.
Meanwhile at the church, also at 7:00 pm, the ladies will be getting together also. They will probably party a little harder than the men. My wife was up later than normal just getting ready to go. Thank you Mary Lombard for all you do for the ladies.
One thing I do know; there will be food. Hopefully all that attend will have a good time and may Jesus be lifted up through the fellowship.
Love you all
